Undeclared Student? Come learn how we can help you decide on December 1st!

If you have not yet declared a major, we have a Virtual Career Exploration Workshop on Tuesday December 1st from 11-11:30am especially for you! It is not uncommon to need help making this important decision and please know that you do not have to do it alone. To put it in context, according to Inside Higher Ed, “almost a third of first-time college students choose a major and then change it at least once within three years.” As I said, not uncommon. The workshop will be part information, part discussion so please bring all your questions! Career Exploration Workshop flyer Some things we will cover are Focus 2 self-assessment and Candid Career videos. A little preview of Candid Career: check out this section where you explore job titles through short videos based on college majors. It feels like you are interviewing professionals who majored in areas you might be considering and are helping you get a sense of what is possible for you. Here are some of my favorites:

  • English (Bachelor) – magazine Editor
  • Liberal Arts (Bachelor) + Criminal Justice (Masters) – FBI Analyst
  • Economics (Bachelor), Disability Studies (Bachelor), Mathematics (Bachelor) – Mayor

Please join us on December 1st and learn about what things you should be considering when deciding on a major and the tools to make it easier. You are a Mercy University student with PACT mentors, Career Coaches, and faculty to help you! Reach out with questions or to make a virtual appointment to mayerbe@mercy.edu

See you December 1st!
