WORLD SOCIAL WORK DAY

The second Tuesday in March has been designated as World Social Work Day. A global organization of social workers come together for social justice, human rights and social development all through the promotion of best practices in social work.

Each year, World Social Work Day promotes a specific theme.  In 2018, they are geared toward community and environmental stability.

History

The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) is the organization behind World Social Work Day. Since 1983, The IFSW, an international, non-governmental organization of social workers has joined with other organizations to facilitate international cooperation, and recognize the accomplishments and contributions of social workers around the globe.
