My Internship Experience at Marks Paneth

My internship at Marks Paneth, an Accounting, Audit, Tax and Advisory firm, has provided me with first hand experience in the accounting industry. It has helped me establish new relationships with coworkers and successful professionals in the field.

At the firm, I’ve networked with college students that share similar career interests and values as I do. The best part of this internship is that I was working during busy season, or tax season. Working during busy season and having deadlines to meet taught me to take my work seriously and I learned how to prioritize projects according to deadlines.

The Career and Professional Development (CPD) and PACT offices are great departments that I highly recommend you meet with during your time at Mercy University. Through the Accounting Society, I had the opportunity to tour Deloitte and the The NY Federal Reserve, as well as speak with recruiters from big companies like KPMG and EY. In addition, I have volunteered at Feeding Westchester. These are just some of the examples of the opportunities I was able to take advantage of during my time at Mercy. It is never too late or too early to start figuring out your life post-graduation. It can be a stressful time, I’ve been there, but the sooner you come up with an action plan, the better off you will be!
