Internship Grant Applications are Open!

COVID-19 may be keeping us all house bound for now, but this is the perfect time to secure opportunities for yourself when things return to normal and with that we are happy to tell you the the Internship Grant Applications are Open!!! The Internship Grant offers students a $1500 award while completing an unpaid, credit-bearing internship in the Fall 2020 semester. This is an excellent way to get real world work experience and build your resume. So let’s get started…here are some things you need to know:

You don’t have to do all the leg work! Sure, your charm and winning personality will be what helps you ace the interview and ultimately secure the job, but in the meantime, Career will help you find/search for internships and create/edit your resume and cover letter in preparation for the application. We can start working with you as soon as possible so schedule a virtual appointment with a career coach through Handshake here.

Get Registered Now! Students planning to do an unpaid internship will need to register for the internship course (380/381 or 399). Talk with your PACT or COP counselor to start planning your fall schedule.

Finally, complete the online application which can be found here. The application will include questions about yourself and your internship plans to start. Next, there will be supplemental materials to submit in order to complete your application which include, an essay, letter of recommendation, and an approved resume in handshake. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the start of the semester. All supplemental materials along with any questions can be sent to CPD@Mercy.edu.  We look forward to seeing your application and making you one of our newest grant recipients!!!
