The Mental Health Worker (MHW) is a member of a treatment team who carries out assigned tasks and duties required to provide excellent care to the patients, organizes and coordinates patient activities and contributes to the overall therapeutic environment.
The MHW will be provided with:
• Thorough training of campus-wide, and unit-specific, policies and procedures;
• Cross-training for adult, adolescent and child populations providing the ability to work well with each population and be adaptable/flexible with daily assignments.
• Two-day training provided in crisis intervention in order to participate in acute situations throughout the campus.
Applicants must be capable of running, twisting, arching and lifting. MHWs may be required to transport patients off grounds using hospital vehicles.
Applicants must be a high school graduate. Further education in psychology or other health related field is preferred. One year of related experience preferred but on-the-job training will be provided.
