The ideal Junior Accountant candidate will perform a broad range of accounting tasks and have experience with QuickBooks. Junior Accountants will work with multiple outsourced business office clients. Client service and engagements are performed at both the MMJ offices and on-site at client offices.

Essential Responsibilities:
o Records cash receipts/deposits, wire transfers, ACH transactions
o Enters vendor invoices and maintains accounts payable aging
o Matches vendor invoices with purchase orders
o Prepares customer invoices in accounting software
o Records payroll transactions
o Performs bank reconciliations on a regular basis
o Updates bank balances regularly
o Cuts checks and enters/records cash disbursements
o Prepares voucher package and maintains vendor files
o Posts journal entries in accounting software
o Prepares Dashboard Reports of key metrics
o Same-day local area travel is required. Must have a car and valid driver’s license
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university preferred
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
o Working knowledge of standard accounting software — QuickBooks, or similar programs
o Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel a must
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Strong time management skills
o Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
o An Associate’s degree or higher
o Minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience
o Flexibility; the ability to adapt to dynamic environments
o Creativity; able to apply a solutions-focused approach to business/accounting issues and problem solving
