Internship Program (Irvington, New York)

Metropolitan Risk is seeking qualified students to work in an internship rotation program during the academic year. The program will offer selected applicants rotations within up to three business functions, providing valuable experience and a diverse look at a range of career paths. Successful interns may have an opportunity for a full-time position, if available, at the completion of the rotation.

The ideal candidate will be a student in good standing that is curious about a career in modern data-driven marketing. The candidate will be required to work 10-20 hours a week during the academic session and would have the opportunity work up to 30 hours per week during summer months. Weekly scheduling is flexible. This is a paid internship and college credit is available, if your school permits. Metropolitan Risk’s office is located in Irvington, NY.

About the Position:

As an Assistant Marketing Representative you are responsible for helping to develop targeted campaigns to our segmented markets with the goal of building lead conversations for our business development sales team.

The AMR’s will assist in building content, managing our CRM database, researching companies & people within our targeted ICP “Ideal Client Profile” and assisting the building of campaigns to generate inbound top of the funnel lead activity for our Business Development team.

You will assist in qualifying active buying interest and developing opportunities within our leads and prospects in our Salesforce CRM utilizing Pardot (now Marketing Cloud). The AMR will also coordinate with both Sales and Business Development counterparts to determine the accounts that require research and prospecting activities to secure a sufficient flow of additional qualified opportunities.

An implicit responsibility of the AMR is to conduct business dealings in a way that creates a superior prospect identification , data hygiene and lead journey experience that will set the stage for effective sales follow-up, as well as future product sales.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in prospect list development, research. Developing Target Accounts for inbound / outbound lead conversions for our Sales Development Team.
  • Assist in creating print and digital content to push to our target leads and account prospects consistent with their target segment.
  • Updating current lead and account data.
  • Learn to use our internal marketing system (Pardot) ; (Engage) all contained within our Salesforce CRM to build out automated DRIP Campaigns.
  • Write, publish and push articles for our Blog and our Newsletter.
  • Create Sales Automation Campaigns and Direct Mail Campaigns for our segmented markets.
  • Learn to build reports within Salesforce.
  • Track Lead conversations that get handed over to our Business Development partners.
  • Interact with prospects via telephone and email to verify data.

Skills/Experience

Since this is an internship we provide the experience you provide the effort and the curiosity.

Skills required:

  • Solid EXCEL Skills
  • Ability to distill complex ideas simply and succinctly in both written and graphic form.
  • Better than average writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy sales team environment; team player
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills
  • Some working knowledge of standard corporate productivity tools ( MS Office, Prezi, Adobe Photoshop . Creative Cloud , WordPress )
  • Graphic Arts experience a plus.

This position is based in Irvington N.Y. 100 yards from the Metro North Irvington Train Station. This is a paid internship at the minimum wage as dictated by Westchester County N.Y. at the time of hire. Interns are hired on a contract 1099 basis and are responsible for their own taxes at year end. No benefits , workers compensation, disability or other benefits normally provided to our full time staff is offered.
