NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx’s Sexual Assault Treatment Program is seeking Rape Crisis Volunteer Advocates. Advocates undergo a 40 hour training certified through The Department of Health. After training, Advocates commit to 2 on-call shifts/month where they respond to the emergency rooms at North Central Bronx and Jacobi to provide support and resources for survivors of sexual violence. Advocates are essential in ensuring survivors feel safe and emotionally supported while seeking treatment. This is both an opportunity to make a difference, while also gaining experience in health care systems and working with survivors of trauma. The program offers ongoing support and continuing education.
