Open Door Family Medical Center has been serving low-income, underserved residents and those lacking access to health care in the communities of Westchester and Putnam counties for more than 45 years, providing high-quality primary health care and human services at affordable prices. This year, Open Door will be the medical home for more than 57,000 patients, providing more than 300,000 visits. Our family medical services include primary medical care, dentistry, behavioral health, optometry, podiatry, and women’s health at our six health centers in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Port Chester, Mount Kisco, Brewster, and Mamaroneck, a dental practice in Saugerties, NY; and eight School-Based Health Centers.

Open Door is seeking candidates for a college internship in communications and marketing. The intern will assist the Director of Communications with a range of projects and campaigns and gain hands-on experience creating content for print, social, web, and digital in a collaborative environment.
Hours: This internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week over two months. Start and end dates flexible.
Updating and coding a comprehensive digital fundraising tool kit, including the audit and repurposing of past collateral and the development of new materials
Developing and scheduling social media content
Assisting in public relations and media outreach campaigns Adhering to the Open Door Brand Style Guide and auditing Open Door’s collateral for brand consistency
Assisting the marketing and communications functions and tactics including special event planning, writing, social media integration, website programing and intranet updates, image research, photography and video, organizing work flow, and composing emails
Learning how to develop insights from tracking digital analytics
Supports cross-functional team projects and tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic understanding of the intention of marketing and communications for a non-profit health care organization
Actively apply critical thinking skills
Commitment to editorial and creative excellence
Can work independently and follow directives Open to learning and developing new skills
Awareness of office etiquette and professional attire
Basic knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and HTML preferred, but not required
