RESPONSIBILITIES
As a business partner and a second line of defense function, the SG Americas Compliance Department supports the Business Units and Support Functions in carrying out banking activities in accordance with regulations and ensuring the sustainable development of our business activities.
In its role, the Compliance Department contributes fully to the positive impact that Société Générale wishes to have on the transformation of our societies. Therefore, preventing market misconduct, combating money laundering, and thwarting the financing of terrorism and corruption are all tasks that fall within the scope of compliance and contribute to the positive transformation of our economies.
More specifically, the SGUS Compliance Department establishes the standards, processes, and accountability structure used to identify, assess, measure, monitor, escalate, and manage Compliance Risk exposure across SGUS within the Firm’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Compliance Risk can be defined as a risk of legal, judicial, criminal, administrative, regulatory, or disciplinary sanction, material financial loss or reputational damage arising from failure to comply with policies, laws, regulations or provisions governing SGUS’ activities. Regulatory guidelines that inform the department include various laws, rules, and regulations in addition to the Federal Reserve Board’s Supervisory Letter SR 08-8: Compliance Risk Management Programs and Oversight at Large Banking Organizations with Complex Compliance Profiles.

The Compliance Department ensures:
Compliance with laws, rules and ethical principles specific to banking activities and investment services undertaken by the firm, as well as compliance with staff members’ personal rules of good conduct and ethics;
Awareness-raising and training of all players in preventing non-compliance and reputational risks.
The SGUS Compliance Department includes teams such as:
- Markets Compliance (Business Coverage and Regulatory Affairs)
- Investment Banking & Advisory Compliance and Conflicts Management (includes the Control Room)
- Second Level Testing (across both Corporate Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance)
- Bank Regulatory Compliance
- Regulatory Oversight (includes Governance, Reporting, Issues, Breaches, Compliance Risk Assessment)
- Capital Markets Surveillance (includes Trade Surveillance, Communications Surveillance, Control Development, Registrations, Personal Account Dealing, Outside Business Activities, Private Investments)
- Regulatory Framework Management & Training (includes Regulatory Change Management, Regulatory Inventory Management, Policies Management, Political Contribution Pre-Clearance, Training Management)
- Bank Regulatory Affairs (includes maintaining relationships with regulators)
- Digital Transformation Office (includes Technology Transformation)
- Financial Crime Compliance (includes OFAC/Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, KYC Advisory, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Governance, and Financial Crime Risk Assessment)
PROFILE REQUIRED
Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.

Societe Generale offers a hybrid work arrangement that offers employees the flexibility to work remotely, as well as on-site, to promote interaction and collaboration with colleagues while adhering to all SG standard protocols. COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE: $70,000-70,000
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
