The Role: US Intern Economist

The Location: Virtual – NY

The Impact: The U.S. Economics Intern role will provide research support to the Chief U.S. Economist and U.S. Senior Economist. The person will be responsible for a variety of tasks requiring training in and knowledge of economics and statistical methods and economic data bases, preparing presentations, preparing internal reports and literature revues on various economic topics, writing reports under supervision for publication, summarizing records of meetings, and presenting economic overviews and analyses to internal client groups.

  • Strong background in macroeconomics.
  • Taking advanced education classes leading to a Ph.D. or a Master’s degree in Economics or related discipline;
  • Strong quantitative background in statistical and econometric techniques.
  • Strong familiarity with fundamentals of U.S. monetary and fiscal policies and national accounts.
  • Highly attentive to detail and zero tolerance of errors in work.
  • Knowledge of econometric packages; R or Python preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Very strong computer skills including preferably programing skills.
  • Excellent proficiency with both written and spoken English.
