The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care and administering medications and treatments within their scope of practice, to patients in their place of residence. As a representative of the organization, it is required that the Licensed Practical Nurse perform the essential functions of the job in a professional manner, with a positive attitude and is aware and supportive of the mission, vision, resident Bill of Rights, policies and procedures of the organization.
Knowledge and Skills
Must posses a current NYS Licensure to practice as a LPN.
Must be CPR certified.
Must posses the ability to work with others in the organization.
Must display patience, tact, enthusiasm and a cheerful deposition.
Must have knowledge of basic nursing care techniques.
Must have computer literacy and ability to train effectively on new patient care systems.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
Must posses the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must be willing to learn new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
