Rebecca is an assistant professor at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Winner of the 2002 Outstanding Graduate Award from the Penn State College of Education, Rebecca teaches courses at USH in the Childhood Education and Literacy Studies Department.

>> My name is Rebecca West Burns and I am currently an assistant professor at the University of South Florida. I work with pre-service teachers so I work with them in their junior year all the way through their senior year and help them, support them in their field internship experiences. I could be in the morning in the school with children working in a classroom with kids while my student teacher is teaching alongside, you know, her mentor teacher. Or I could be sitting in a conference with three of them. And then after that I might be in a meeting with university faculty. And then I might be writing for a period of time. And then I might be in another meeting. And then I might be back at the schools with the collaborating teachers or working with principals, so it varies greatly.
