Jessica Sharp, Co-Founder and Principal, Maven Communications

>> I'm Jessica Sharp principal of Maven Communications. So Maven Communications is a full service public relations and communications firm. We're based in Center City Philadelphia. We work mostly with business to business clients and technology, health care and real estate and I am principal of the company and I have a partner so we run the firm. We do everything from strategic development, business development, to working hands on with the clients, building out strategy and helping them to reach new audiences. So with a lot of the clients that we work with they're really looking for increased visibility mostly to increase our revenues. So what we'll do is we position some of the heads of companies as spot leaders. So for example we recently we had we were working with a law firm that just had a big announcement and it was it was a very big thing for the state of Pennsylvania and also for those partners individually. So we really worked position one partner in particular to be interviewed by a lot of different media outlets, as well as get him on panels to position him as a thought leader on that particular topic, which then also helps the firm get visibility and potential new clients. Well, what we always do is you know we just concentrate on the marketing and communications aspect. We have to make sure that the company has goals overall so we want to make sure that our marketing tactics that we put together always tie into the goals of what the company has and so it's important before we start working with the company that they really do know what they're looking for and they have goals that they're working toward. That's really the only way that we can be successful because at the end of the day if they don't really know what they want no matter what we do you know it's probably not going to be successful.
