>> My name is Jackie Wong [phonetic] and I'm a freelance artist, specifically working in paper. I create art literally using paper, and usually I work with mainly card stock, so kind of the stuff you would find in the scrapbooking aisle at Michael's and stuff. And I use that stuff to create dimensional paper illustrations. So if you imagine a flat drawing or painting, I simply take the same concepts and then just layer it into almost like a diorama, and that becomes what we call paper sculpture. Or I often do kind of pop-up work, which is the stuff you see in cards or books. So I freelance. My clients vary. I've done some stuff with Disney Consumer Products. I created a pop-up card that is now currently in their Disney Store Baby. I've also done things for American Greetings, mainly kind of concepting work for them. And then I also do stuff for toy companies, kind of like MGA graphic design and packaging. My days vary a lot since freelancing. Some days I literally sit at home and don't have to change out of my pajamas. Other days I actually wind up having to go out. I don't do a lot of meetings actually in person as a freelance artist. Usually those are all done via telephone or email. And so a busy day mainly consists of kind of having to write back a lot of emails. If I have a meeting at all, it's usually in the mornings. I have to go meet with a client or drop off a project and then I come back and kind of do more emails. If not, right afterwards I'll run errands in terms of buying supplies and then kind of working. For me I usually find that I'm most efficient at night, so I usually work between 7 until about 1 AM.
