Amanda Hopkins ’03 is the Senior Director of Gift Planning at Rollins College. As a Rollins College alumni herself, Amanda found this career after spending three years as a transaction attorney.

>> My name is Amanda Hopkins and I am senior director of gift planning at the college and a typical day for me actually is never the same, but some of my day is usually spent working on the strategic planning for our campaign; a portion of my day is spent working on getting visits with perspective donors to the college and following up on potential gifts to the college and then just working with our team members and getting them up to speed and able to fundraise and get out the door and meet with potential donors. A busy day would be being pulled in various directions. I'm a former practicing attorney, so there is an aspect of my job that is definitely gift administration and compliance and so a busy day would be being pulled in gift administration compliance type of questions or issues, trying to build a trip like I'm doing right now where it's I'm in Atlanta then I'm in South Florida, then I'm going up to D.C. and so working on getting those visits prepared as well as following up to get some of those visits that have proposals attached to it done and ready to go, and then just the helping our other fundraisers in the office with their questions or issue and concerns and so, in a lot of meetings, and those days are usually packed with lots of meetings and lots of conversations.
