I was driving to work the other morning and heard on the radio that the video sharing social media platform TikTok was accepting resumes. I thought it was pretty cool that they were hiring. Yet, as I continued to listen, I quickly learned that it wasn’t the company itself that was hiring, but they were helping people get jobs for other companies that are hiring. In other words, they were serving as a job search platform much like our Handshake is. However, here’s where things got even more interesting…to apply for one of the jobs posted on their platform, a candidate would need to send in a video resume! Have you ever heard of such a thing? At least until the end of the month – July 31, 2021, TikTok will accept applications in the form of a video submission. This gives a new meaning to marketing yourself and TikTok is changing the resume game for sure. So, if you are looking for a job and want to try doing something different to apply, go ahead and make a video! This will be a really cool story to tell about how you landed your dream job!!
