Director, Career Education
Lyn Leis is a 14-year career development professional with significant experience in team leadership, program development, experiential learning, and career in curriculum. She practices holistic and equity-minded career counseling that is grounded in anti-racist, intersectional, and liberation-based frameworks. A first generation college graduate and Westchester native, Lyn is committed to helping Mercy College students discover, develop, and pursue their career paths. As Interim Director, Career Education, Lyn oversees the career coaching, programming, curricular, and educational services and initiatives from the Career Team at Mercy College. Her mission is to provide student-centered service with focus on equity, inclusion, and belonging. She wants and needs student feedback, so please reach out to her at any time!
Lyn is also the current Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force of the Division of Student Affairs at Mercy College, and the current President of NYSCEEA (New York State Cooperative and Experiential Education Association). She holds a BA in French Language and Comparative Literature from SUNY Binghamton, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Manhattanville College, a Professional Certificate in Career Planning and Development from New York University, and is a Certified Professional Resume Writer. She recently completed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida MUMA College of Business.
Director, Employer Relations
Sara Shepherd currently serves as the Interim Director of Employer Relations at Mercy College. Her primary focus is to create, develop, and maintain relationships with employers who have interest in hiring Mercy College students.
Sara has also served as Associate Director of Career and Professional Development where she focused on marketing, system maintenance, and working with students in the School of Liberal Arts. Sara’s first role at Mercy College was Assistant Director for Career and Professional Development. Her primary goal in this role was to develop and implement a dynamic, integrated, and comprehensive suite of career programs and services for current undergraduate students.
Prior to working at Mercy College, Sara was an Employment Manager at a social service agency where she handled hiring procedures and performed human resource functions agency wide. Sara holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specializing in Marketing from Mercy College.
Associate Director of Career and Professional Development, Manhattan Campus
Mariana is the Associate Director of Career and Professional Development at the Manhattan campus. Mariana’s main responsibility is to assist in the development and delivery of career programming and career resources for the Manhattan students. Mariana also leads the Career Explorer Career Community and is in charge of data collection and analysis for the department, including the First Destination Survey.
Mariana holds a Master’s degree from NYU in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a Certificate in Career Planning and Development and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pace University.

Joi Sampson has worked in higher education for over 10 years. In that time, she has worked within academic and student affairs divisions, which has given her the ability to build a holistic picture of what a student needs to be successful in and outside the classroom.
Joi supports students in the School of Health and Natural Sciences, is the community leader for the Healthcare and Wellness career community and oversees the Internship Grant. Roselle Glick, M.A. is an accomplished and dedicated Career Services Professional with extensive experience working in Higher Education. As the Associate Director, Career & Professional Development she delivers customized career coaching, workshops, and programs to students in the School of Health & Natural Sciences.
She has a passion for being a Career Coach and Higher Education Professional and is dedicated to helping individuals achieve career goals and outcomes.
Roselle holds a M.A. in Counseling & Guidance from New York University and a B.A. in Social Science Interdisciplinary & Sociology from the University at Buffalo.

Reginald Coleman (Reggie) is a First-Generation college graduate from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who loves Beyonce. Reggie is a double alumnus from Kutztown University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a minor in English and a master’s degree in Higher Education. Reggie’s professional experience is in Residential Life where he served as a Residence Hall Director for both upperclassmen and freshmen living communities. As a strong representative of unity, Reggie has also served on committees that educate students on the importance of diversity and inclusion. Reggie is passionate about Career Education and is looking forward to professionally developing Mercy College students as they prepare to embark on their career journey.

As a Career Specialist, Samantha co-leads the Human Services, Government, Law and education Career Community and supports the career team’s day-to-day operations Samantha supports the career team’s day-to-day operations. She assists with executing undergraduate career programming, planning events, and reporting. Samantha also meets with students and visits classrooms to promote career education.
Prior to graduating from Manhattanville College with a B.A. in Psychology, Samantha worked closely with her school’s Center for Career Development. She acted as both a student worker and an intern, where she assisted in preparations for career events and managed the data through her school’s online career database. She also launched a Peer Career Advisor program that had great success in connecting students to the center and helping them develop strong resumes and job search skills.
Samantha worked in Human Resources after finishing at Manhattanville, is very excited to be back in higher education, and looks forward to working with Mercy students!

Senior Career Coach
Allen Rossetti joined the Career and Professional Development team in October of 2018 as a Career Coach and leads the Human Services, Government, Law and Education.
Allen received a Master of Education in College Student Services Administration from the College of Saint Rose and an undergraduate degree in history from SUNY Oneonta.

Sharon Okaine is a dedicated Career Coach that joined the Career & Professional Development team in January 2022. She provides career coaching to students, supports the Human Services, Government, Law and Education career community with programming and events, and manages various systems and CPD operations for the team.
After graduating from the University of Sussex (UK) with Bachelor’s in Business Finance, Sharon has worked for various corporate and not-for-profit organizations within administrative support and counseling positions. She is currently studying a Masters in Higher Education Administration, with a focus in career development and counseling.
Sharon is passionate about working with a wide variety of students, and looks forward to providing others with the right tools to establish their careers, no matter who they are or where they come from.
