Where to Search for Your STEM Internship

If you are looking for your STEM internship for this upcoming semester or summer, you should be looking on multiple job boards. Below is a list of job boards I recommend to utilize as you search for your next opportunity. You do not want to limit your search to one job board. There are great opportunities available and you may need to utilize multiple job boards to find them all!

Career Maverick

Mercy University’s online job resource site is a powerful tool you can use to discover internships, full-time and part-time jobs. There are over 600 positions posted in Career Maverick at any given time. Employers that are posting here are looking to hire Mercy students. By applying for internships in Career Maverick, you will be applying for internships that are being sourced for you by our Employer Relations team! Click here to access Career Maverick.

To help narrow your search, we recommend searching for internships by Career Community.  To search by Career Community, select Jobs and Internships > choose the Position Type > More Filters > Career Community:  Science, Technology and Math (STEM). This will show you all of the open internships, jobs, and volunteer opportunities in your Career Community.

LinkedIn

According to Jobvite, 76% of employers post positions onto LinkedIn and 86% of employers will check your LinkedIn profile. This is a great website to not only manage your professional network but search for internships and jobs. You will need to have a complete profile before applying to positions. Completing a profile and having one of our Career Coaches review your profile will help to put your best foot forward when employers see your profile. You do not want to have an incomplete profile when you start your search. An employer may develop a negative opinion if they see an incomplete profile associated with your application.

Be sure to utilize the filters to narrow down your search as you may get an overwhelming number of hits with a standard search. Click here to access LinkedIn and create your profile!

Internships.com

“Internships.com is the world’s largest internship marketplace bringing students, employers and higher education institutions together in one centralized location. We specialize in helping students and young professionals find the right internship to kick-start their career.” – Internships.com

This is a great national job board that focuses mainly on internships. There are many opportunities listed and I recommend to utilize the advance search feature.
