Amalgamated Bank, America’s socially responsible bank, seeks a Consumer Compliance intern to assist and support the Consumer Compliance team in organizing and executing compliance activities.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Consumer Compliance team members with Deposit and Lending ongoing compliance-related tasks including but not limited to; monitoring reviews, training, consumer complaints, updating department policies and procedures, and managing the self-identification issues tracker.
- Supports the Consumer Compliance team who work with applicable regulations and requirements to analyze records, reports, operating practices, and documentation, recommending opportunities to strengthen the compliance structure.
- Support the Lending Compliance Officer with reviewing and preparing the quarterly Home Mortgage Disclosure Act – Loan Application Register (HMDA -LAR).
- Assist with various ongoing tasks including but not limited to; preparing committee presentations, communicating with appropriate business lines as needed, and coordinating and responding to audit requests.
- On an as-needed basis, perform research on regulatory issues that is thorough, accurate and timely. Communicate the results of the research to the Consumer Compliance team.
- Support the Consumer Compliance team and business units with the Regulatory Change Management process.
- Assist with assigning online compliance courses to bank employees. Manage employee course progress, send communications to employees, conduct quarterly course progress reporting/trend analysis, and perform an annual audit of online courses assigned to all employees and investigate all situations where discrepancies exist.
- Assist with Marketing material review and approvals and the development of a Marketing SharePoint site for this process.
- Assist with engagement planning and execution.
- Assist in managing the Compliance SharePoint site.
- Participate in internal bank projects and provide assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed.
