Overview of Dept/Division:
MOW is comprised of several functional areas that, together, are responsible for planning and designing major right-of-way reconstruction projects, setting engineering guidelines and standards, and testing our structures, to maintaining the running rail, roadbed and third rail, and all the power that is supplied throughout the system and subway cars. MOW also maintains the signals that let train operators know when and where they can move along the trackway, along with the infrastructure that pumps more than 13 million gallons of water out of our system each day.
Assignment Description:
The intern will handle correspondence and manage the CASSIE system for all MOW subdivisions, which includes routing incidents, receiving information, preparing responses for signature, and closing out incidents. They will also communicate with senior management, prepare, monitor & maintain databases, generate reports and records as requested.
Project Deliverables:
The availability of the selected candidate will ensure that MOW review and address customer concerns in a timely manner. The candidate will also assist with tasks such as data collection, analysis, and preparing strategic reports. The candidate will be responsible for keeping an organized workspace. They will also assist management by supporting future initiatives through research, collecting data, and creating literature to help share the information.
Development:
The candidate will have the opportunity to strengthen their organizational, problem solving, time management, and communication skills both verbally and in writing. The selected candidate will gain technical and professional knowledge with respect to how a government agency, specifically a transportation agency, conducts its day-to day business and operations.
